You’ll inspire and inform academic and industry researchers, in the UK and internationally, about our work. Your understanding of these audiences, coupled with your innovative strategies, will drive successful communication campaigns across a variety of channels.
What will I be doing?

- Gathering insights from academic and industry research audiences to inform and shape communication strategies.
- Creating high-quality, engaging content for diverse channels including email, digital platforms, social media, and print, ensuring all materials are on-brand and use appropriate language for a research audience.
- Enhancing the visibility of our major research investments and strengthening Cancer Research UK’s reputation among researchers.
What are you looking for?
We are seeking a passionate Research Communications and Marketing Manager who is enthusiastic about science and enjoys working with multidisciplinary communities to deliver impactful marketing campaigns.
- A degree (preferably in a science subject) or equivalent work experience.
- Proven experience in developing and delivering communications strategies and marketing campaigns across multiple channels, with a focus on reporting outcomes.
- Strong ability to produce relevant, engaging, and inspiring copy and content.
- Experience working with content management systems, email platforms, and templates to create effective campaigns.
- Demonstrated expertise in using and reporting on web and social media analytics (e.g., Google Analytics).
- Experience managing external agencies and freelancers, from drafting briefs to ensuring high-quality delivery within budget and deadlines.
- Experience working within scientific or research-focused organizations (e.g., academia, agencies, funders, publishers, professional bodies, pharmaceutical industries).
