About the Role
We are recruiting an Assistant Accountant / Finance Co-ordinator to join a growing international business based in Stonehouse, Gloucestershire. This is a hands-on and varied role within a close-knit finance team, reporting directly to the Financial Director.
The position is ideal for an AAT, ACCA, or CIMA studier, or a finance professional qualified by experience, who is looking to broaden their exposure across core accounting activities while adding real value to the business. Training will be provided, but a solid understanding of double-entry bookkeeping is essential.
Key Responsibilities
Support the Financial Director with monthly management accounts, including balance sheet and profitability reporting
Perform balance sheet reconciliations and maintain accurate financial records
Process monthly payroll and related reconciliations
Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable activities
Support year-end audit preparation and coordination
Contribute to finance process improvement initiatives
Liaise with internal and external stakeholders
Investigate and resolve financial discrepancies to improve accuracy and controls
What We’re Looking For
Experience in a similar assistant accountant or finance support role
AAT qualified or studying towards AAT / ACCA / CIMA (or qualified by experience)
Good understanding of double-entry bookkeeping
Strong numeracy skills and high attention to detail
Experience using financial systems and strong Excel skills
Well organised, able to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Willingness to learn and adapt in a growing business
Experience with ERP systems such as SAP is desirable but not essential
