About this Role
A core member of the Public Programmes team at The Place, London’s creative powerhouse for dance development, the Producer: Artist Development & Research works closely with the Artistic Director, Head of Programming & Producing and Assistant Producer to plan and deliver programmes which support artist and producer career development and research. The Place is building a cross-organisation research culture which values and supports artists’ and producers’ practice research, underpinning innovation and excellence in dance performance, choreography, audience development and dance health. The postholder will deliver a portfolio of programmes including Choreodrome (the annual residency programme) and the Associate Artist programme, which is currently being redesigned. Responsibilities include planning and developing artist support programmes, undertaking fundraising for new projects with the Development Team, providing bespoke support to artists and producers, developing professional development workshops including the annual Webinars for Professionals and Resolution workshops, and line managing staff. Essential criteria include good knowledge of contemporary dance in the UK, excellent organisational and financial management skills, experience of producing in the performing arts, and experience of Arts Council England Project Grant applications or similar funding bids.
