Surrey and Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust is recruiting a Senior Clinical Coder at East Surrey Hospital, Redhill. The role involves obtaining, analysing and interpreting complex clinical data for all patients – denoting diagnoses, co-morbidities, medical and surgical procedures, medical status and relevant family history – and accurately assigning codes using ICD-10 and OPCS-4 classifications. You will ensure coded information is accurate, complete and timely, contributing to essential management information for the Trust and preventing loss of income under agendas such as Payment by Results and Waiting List Initiatives. The post holder will understand the impact of coded data on the business aspects of the Trust and provide information and advice to health professionals and administrative staff on the nature and complexity of clinical coding and its purposes across patient care, clinical governance, clinical audit, finance, budgeting, data quality and research.
