Job Description

Medical Receptionist / Administrator – Temporary to Permanent

Immediate Start | £13.68 per hour

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a friendly and well-established GP practice in the Sale area and surrounding locations. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Medical Receptionist or Administrator seeking a full-time, ongoing temporary role with the potential to become permanent.

The successful candidate will be confident, organised, and able to step into the role quickly. Previous experience working within a GP practice and a strong working knowledge of EMIS or SystmOne are essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Welcome patients and visitors in a professional, friendly, and supportive manner

  • Manage appointment bookings and maintain an accurate and efficient appointment system

  • Handle incoming calls, emails, and general enquiries promptly and professionally

  • Maintain accurate patient records in line with confidentiality and data protection standards

  • Process patient registrations, insurance documentation, and related paperwork

  • Support daily administrative tasks including filing, scanning, and data entry

  • Liaise with clinical staff to ensure smooth patient flow and effective service delivery

Essential Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar GP practice role

  • Working knowledge of EMIS or SystmOne

  • Strong communication and customer service skills

  • Excellent organisational abilities and attention to detail

  • Confident IT skills and familiarity with electronic patient record systems

  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare environment

Contract Details

  • Temporary to permanent opportunity
