About this Role

Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust is looking for a highly motivated individual to join its Clinical Coding Services Team. The role involves extracting relevant information from patient records, discussing queries with clinicians and coding team members, and translating diagnoses and procedures into codes using standard national classifications (ICD10 and OPCS 4). The information produced is used to report on patient outcomes, improve patient care and ensure the Trust is appropriately paid for treatments. Applicants with ACC accreditation and experience will enter at Band 4; those without accreditation enter as a Trainee Clinical Coder at Band 3 with full training support. Essential requirements include excellent logical and analytical skills, knowledge of medical terminology, human anatomy and physiology, and the ability to work accurately to tight deadlines.
