About this Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a suitably qualified individual to become the Deputy Pathology Informatics Manager within Swansea Bay University Health Board. The SBUHB Pathology Department operates as a Swansea Bay region hub and spoke network covering four hospital sites, and the successful applicant will be expected to work across all Health Board sites. The post holder will manage day-to-day tasks alongside the Pathology Informatics team and is responsible for the smooth running of Pathology systems, including the provision of information for internal and external use. Reporting to the Head of Pathology Informatics, you will manage the Pathology IT systems and associated peripheral interfaces and communication devices across all disciplines including Laboratory Medicine, Cellular Pathology and Blood Transfusion. You will deputise for the Head of Pathology Informatics in national meetings, business continuity and major incidents, and act as an experienced technical lead responsible for the Pathology Informatics Infrastructure support team. Applicants need good experience of working within the NHS with an excellent understanding of clinical systems, in-depth knowledge of laboratory systems such as WLIMS, LabCentre and Telepath, and evidence of successful implementation of pathology informatics projects. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
