Deputy Production Manager

About this Role

Theatr Clwyd, a producing theatre and cultural hub in North Wales, is recruiting a Deputy Production Manager to join its Theatre Making team. Working alongside the Production Manager and Head of Production, the postholder will help deliver Theatr Clwyd productions to the highest possible standards, taking on production management tasks and responsibilities across a variety of shows. The role works closely with the Set Construction, Scenic Art, Lighting, Sound & AV and Costume & Wigs teams to create productions for the two theatre spaces in the recently refurbished building, plus projects and events across the organisation. Responsibilities include coordinating and overseeing the delivery of scenery, props, costume, lighting and sound within agreed briefs, budgets and timescales, managing freelance production roles on in-house shows, and taking responsibility for finance and financial reporting on specific project budgets. Candidates will need experience in production management or a lead stage management or technical role in a producing theatre (or an equivalent qualification), proven financial and budget management experience, strong communication, planning and organisational skills, high-level knowledge of technical theatre disciplines, CAD drafting skills, and a good working knowledge of licensing and health and safety legislation.
