About this Role
The main focus of this role is to introduce LAMDA’s Production & Technical Arts students to the skills required and the roles within a theatre, or related industry, Scenic Construction Department. The post is 22.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, plus evening and weekend work as and when necessary. Duties include providing lectures and teaching in small groups; discussing the broad content and methodology of teaching with the Head of Scenic Construction; preparing teaching sequences by drawing together relevant knowledge from research and professional experience; ensuring content, delivery methods and learning materials meet defined learning objectives; helping students absorb and apply knowledge and overcome problems in understanding; promoting depth of learning through clarification, discussion and introducing new issues from recent research and current professional practice; providing individual academic advice and formative feedback; setting and marking assessment tasks subject to moderation; and undertaking organisational and administrative tasks related to teaching, all in accordance with LAMDA policies.
