About this Role
George Mitchell School, an all-through academy in Leyton, East London, is seeking an enthusiastic individual with excellent interpersonal skills to work under the direction of senior staff to oversee and supervise the school’s student support area/reflection room – an internal provision where students who need help to overcome barriers to learning reflect on their behaviour and work for a fixed period of time. The school is looking for a candidate with proven pastoral experience, a strong understanding of trauma-informed practice and positive behaviour management techniques supported by relevant professional qualifications or CPD, strong communication skills and a professional demeanour, and a genuine passion and belief in the potential of every pupil. Judged ‘Good’ by Ofsted, George Mitchell is a small all-through school with a strong community feel, low staff turnover, new buildings and improved facilities, within walking distance of Leyton underground and Leyton Midland stations. Benefits include free onsite parking, a cycle to work scheme, free eye tests and an Employee Assistance Programme. The successful candidate would start September 2026.
