About this Role
BBC Scotland TV Presentation transmits three of Scotland’s TV channels — BBC One Scotland, BBC Scotland and BBC ALBA — from Pacific Quay in Glasgow. This part-time (0.5) Announcer/Director role makes you one of the voices of BBC Scotland: speaking live to the nation, writing and delivering continuity announcements, and operating playout automation and audio-visual systems to keep transmission smooth and accurate. You will work a 365 rota covering the broadcast day from early morning to close-down, run advance QA checks on programmes, trails, graphics and access services, and make quick editorial decisions in a live environment when schedules change or news breaks. Essential: live broadcasting experience, experience with broadcast playout systems, a clear versatile voice, ability to broadcast while listening to open talkback, and editorial awareness.
