Retail Assistant Manager
Salary: £12.07 – £14.06 per hour

We’re seeking a driven Assistant Shop Manager to become part of our trading team. You’ll play a vital role in supporting the Shop Manager and your team, maximizing revenue by efficiently managing people, resources, and stock.
In a dynamic, energetic environment, you’ll encounter something new every day—be it the latest high street trends, engaging with local communities, or uncovering new talents within yourself.
You’ll also work alongside people as committed to defeating cancer as you are.
What will I be doing?
- Assisting the Shop Manager in inspiring and leading a diverse team of staff and volunteers.
- Supporting the commercial aspects of the store, including merchandising, stock management, shop standards, sales, and income.
- Leading by example and delivering exceptional customer and supporter service.
- Collaborating with the Shop Manager to meet targets for donated stock, cash income, gift aid, average selling price, sell-through rate, and stock processing.
- Building relationships with the local community and Cancer Research UK colleagues.
- Helping to plan and execute creative fundraising events in your store to meet fundraising goals.
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, safeguarding policies, and HR guidelines.
- Stepping in for the Shop Manager during their absence.
What skills are you looking for?
- A solid understanding of excellent customer service practices.
- Experience working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances, including the ability to work independently.
- A strong sense of commercial awareness.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships.
- Ideally, prior experience as a supervisor and/or knowledge of retail and fashion.
