We’re searching for dedicated Day Cleaners to ensure our trains are immaculate and ready for seamless journeys. Do you bring that extra sparkle?

Are you proud of your work, dependable, and hardworking? We’re looking for reliable individuals to join our Train Cleaning team, making sure our trains are clean, hygienic, and ready to travel across the North.

Your Role – Can you see yourself:

  • Customer Focus: By delivering spotless trains, you’ll directly enhance our passengers’ travel experience, providing them with a clean and pleasant environment for their journey.
  • Teamworking: Collaborating with your team to maintain top-notch cleaning standards. Topping up toilet supplies, such as soap and toilet paper.
  • Building Relationships: Confidently engaging with colleagues from diverse backgrounds.
  • Taking Pride: Paying close attention to detail, taking satisfaction in ensuring trains and work environments are pristine. Cleaning tables, windows, and other touchpoints.
  • Using Initiative: Proactively tackling major cleaning tasks, such as addressing spills of blood or vomit, and resolving issues swiftly and safely. Removing litter and emptying bins.

  • Adaptable and Resilient? Comfortable working outdoors and onboard trains, handling various weather conditions and changing demands with ease.
  • Flexible? Ready to adjust to different schedules, including weekends and bank holidays, ensuring trains remain safe and clean year-round.
  • Keen to Learn and Grow? No prior cleaning experience is necessary—our thorough training will equip you with the skills to excel.
  • Active? You’ll meet a daily goal of 10,000 steps while keeping our trains spotless and safe for everyone.

Important Information:

This is a safety-critical role governed by Rail Safety & Standards Board (RSSB) regulations. To be eligible, you MUST:

  • Live within a 45-minute car journey from the station where you’ll work.
  • Be at least 18 years old at the time of application.
  • Pass a safety-critical medical assessment, including drug and alcohol testing.
  • Not have defective colour vision.
