About this Role

Ofwat is seeking a Water Quality Policy Advisor to join the Environment Team within its RAPID & Environmental Planning Directorate. The water sector is entering a new chapter following the Independent Water Commission’s Final Report and ‘New Vision for Water’ White Paper. You will develop and implement Ofwat’s approach to water quality policy including reporting metrics, regulatory policy, and legislative change. You will engage with regulators (Environment Agency, Drinking Water Inspectorate) and water companies, provide expert advice on water quality issues, and build strategic relationships across the sector. The role requires relevant experience in water quality issues through policy, regulatory or scientific roles, and a demonstrated understanding of the water industry regulatory landscape including environmental regulation, bathing waters, and pollution.
