About this Role
LAMDA is recruiting an Assistant Professor in Sound. The primary focus of the role is to introduce Production & Technical Arts students to the skills required and the roles within a theatre, or related industry, Sound Department. You will give classes to students and support them in delivering practical show roles. Duties include providing lectures and small-group teaching, agreeing the broad content and methodology of teaching with the Head of Sound, preparing session content and materials, ensuring delivery meets defined learning objectives, providing individual academic advice and formative feedback, setting and marking assessed work subject to moderation, and reviewing teaching outcomes. You will also oversee the preparation of the sound rig, technical and dress rehearsals and performances in LAMDA’s theatres and other venues in the UK and overseas, deliver tutorials, act as departmental tutor, manage a networked suite of Apple Mac computers for studio and live production, liaise with external companies on private hires, maintain industry connections and support student work placements, and ensure adherence to health and safety guidelines on electrical work.
