South Derbyshire District Council is looking for an Events & Arts Officer to join its Communities Team, assisting in the planning, organisation and administration of a varied annual events programme including the Festival of Leisure, Christmas Lights Switch On, Music in the Park and Civic events. The role involves working with colleagues, partners, community groups, businesses and other stakeholders, with a strong understanding of the arts sector and the Council’s Arts Strategy. Responsibilities include planning and delivering events start to finish, promoting events through social media and marketing materials using tools like Canva, managing bookings and schedules, and supporting project planning. Candidates should have experience planning and coordinating events, knowledge of arts, culture or community work, and strong organisational skills.
