About this Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen at Lawnswood School in North Leeds to join its on-site alternative provision as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant specialising in SEMH (social, emotional and mental health). The provision supports KS3 and KS4 students to succeed whilst remaining in school. The school is looking for someone with enthusiasm, a ‘can do’ mentality, and the drive and determination to ensure that the students they work with can overcome barriers to learning and progress – helping to keep them safe, happy and successful throughout their time at the school. Your experience in supporting students with SEMH needs to access the mainstream curriculum will be key, and you will work closely with teaching colleagues to ensure effective implementation of teaching and learning. The role offers a professional challenge and a rewarding opportunity to be part of an inclusive school with a leadership team highly committed to improving the mental health and wellbeing of young people. Lawnswood School is an Ofsted ‘Good’ rated 11-18 school with 1,307 pupils and a diverse intake. An enhanced DBS check is required and visas cannot be sponsored.
