About this Role

Forge Valley School & Sixth Form in Sheffield, part of INOVA Multi Academy Trust, is recruiting a Reading Mentor. Working under the direct guidance of senior leaders, you will support pupils’ reading development, building confidence in reading and closing gaps in reading age so all learners can access the full curriculum. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, resilient and committed to improving outcomes for young people, able to engage, motivate and challenge pupils across Key Stages 3 and 4. Duties include delivering targeted reading interventions through small group and one-to-one support, building positive relationships with pupils who lack confidence in reading, and using assessment information to track progress and adapt support strategies. You will work closely with the SLT Lead for Whole School Literacy and Subject Leaders to monitor pupil progress and use data to evaluate impact and inform intervention strategies.
