Position Overview
Barchester Healthcare is seeking an Activities Coordinator to join one of its care homes and play a key role in fostering a vibrant and stimulating environment. This position is central to delivering exceptional, holistic care and support to residents. With a focus on celebrating life, the Activities Coordinator will create engaging, imaginative, and motivational activities tailored to residents’ interests and abilities.
Primary Responsibilities
In this highly rewarding role, the Activities Coordinator will spend time building meaningful relationships with residents and their families to design customised activity programmes. These programmes will focus on enhancing residents’ overall wellbeing, promoting their independence, and encouraging social engagement. Responsibilities include:
- Designing and implementing activity schedules that cater to a variety of interests and abilities.
- Building strong connections with residents and their families to ensure activities meet individual preferences.
- Inspiring and motivating both residents and staff to actively participate in planned activities.
- Organising activities within the care home as well as engaging with the local community to provide opportunities for social interaction.
About You
To thrive as an Activities Coordinator, you will need to be warm, empathetic, and personable. Strong organisational skills, a proactive mindset, and the ability to execute plans effectively are essential. Creativity, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude are key to inspiring participation and fostering a lively environment. While prior experience in a similar role is beneficial, it is not required, as Barchester provides comprehensive training and development opportunities.

Qualifications
While experience in a similar role is advantageous, it is not essential, as full training will be provided.
