  • Salary: £105,504 – £139,882 per annum (pro-rata)
  • Contract Type: Substantive
  • Working Hours: Full-time, with 10 Programmed Activities (DCC:SPA = 7.5:2.5)
  • On-call Duty: 1:14 frequency with a Category A 3% on-call supplement

Pay Scheme: Hospital medical and dental staff

Required Qualifications:

  • Full GMC registration with a valid license to practice
  • CCT or equivalent qualification
  • Section 12 Approval or eligibility for approval
  • Approved Clinician status or eligibility
  • Inclusion in, or eligibility for inclusion in, the Specialist Register, or within 6 months of completing CCST

We are currently seeking a Community Child and Adolescent Consultant Psychiatrist for the Dartford CAMHS Community Team, based at Unit 1, Twisleton Court, Priory Hill, Dartford, Kent, DA1 2EN. This role is crucial, and we aim to fill the vacancy promptly.

The successful candidate will work alongside a full-time CAMHS Consultant Psychiatrist (Dr. Adenike Ajigini), a full-time Senior Trainee, and a 0.8wte CT LAS. This role offers the opportunity to shape future models of care and therapeutic approaches in the region.


Job Description

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide expertise as part of multidisciplinary teams catering to children and adolescents with mental health challenges in Dartford.
  • Offer senior medical leadership and guidance to team members.
  • Work directly with young individuals and their families, ensuring coordination with external CAMHS providers and acute healthcare facilities.
  • Participate in a 1:14 on-call rota, which includes a Category A 3% basic salary supplement.
  • Support colleagues, contribute as an effective team member, and foster a collaborative working environment.
  • Collaborate with a full-time CAMHS Consultant, Senior Trainee, and 0.8wte CT LAS.
  • Actively engage with health and social care professionals, agencies, and external stakeholders.

Person Specification

Essential Requirements:

  • GMC Registration: Full GMC registration with a license to practice.
  • Qualifications:
    • Completion of CCT or equivalent.
    • Section 12 Approval or eligibility.
    • Approved Clinician status or eligibility.
    • Inclusion in the Specialist Register or eligibility within 6 months of obtaining CCST.
