Newly Qualified ARRs Salaried GP – Acute Care Team Job Vacancy at NHS

Newly Qualified ARRs Salaried GP – Acute Care Team
Employer: Solihull Healthcare Partnership (SHP)
Location: Solihull, West Midlands
Closing Date: 15 March 2025

Job Overview

Solihull Healthcare Partnership is seeking a newly qualified GP to join their Acute Care Team as part of the Additional Roles Reimbursement Scheme (ARRS). This role is designed to support acute, same-day patient care in collaboration with Allied Healthcare Professionals, while promoting teamwork within the practice.

SHP provides a supportive environment with regular team huddles, clinical meetings, quarterly protected learning time, and an engaging social calendar, including an annual SHP Shining Stars Awards ceremony. Recognising the challenges faced by newly qualified GPs transitioning from trainee to independent practitioner, SHP offers mentorship by a dedicated partner, a named clinical supervisor, and additional support aligned with Birmingham and Solihull Integrated Care Board (BSol ICB) resources.

Main Responsibilities

The role involves working autonomously as a general practitioner, providing high-quality care to patients, and collaborating with healthcare professionals. Specific duties include:

  • Conducting face-to-face and telephone consultations, triaging patients, and home visits.
  • Assessing, diagnosing, and treating undifferentiated and undiagnosed conditions.
  • Advising patients, carers, and colleagues while ensuring clinical excellence.
  • Developing and managing care plans for long-term conditions and health promotion strategies.
  • Maintaining accurate and timely clinical records and ensuring compliance with clinical audit and QOF (Quality and Outcomes Framework) requirements.
  • Reviewing and processing test results, referrals to secondary care or other PCN professionals, and issuing prescriptions in accordance with practice guidelines.
  • Contributing to practice initiatives such as audits, quality improvement programmes, and compliance with operational frameworks.

The post-holder is also expected to share responsibilities for home visits and ensure high standards of care delivery within the Acute Care Team and Primary Care Network (PCN).
