This role provides the chance to deliver significant value to the business by managing and optimizing our supply chain. Through negotiating favorable contracts, ensuring timely deliveries, and fostering strong supplier relationships, you will play a key role in our overall success.


Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Sourcing: Identify and procure goods and services aligned with business objectives.
  • Contract Management: Develop, negotiate, and oversee contracts to minimize risks and maximize value.
  • Supplier Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure quality and timely delivery.
  • Compliance: Follow procurement policies, procedures, and relevant legislation.
  • Financial Management: Oversee budgets and control costs effectively.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor procurement team members.
  • Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand needs and provide effective procurement solutions.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Strong negotiation and communication abilities
  • Proven expertise in procurement and contract management
  • In-depth understanding of procurement regulations and best practices
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to establish and maintain relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders
  • CIPS qualification or equivalent

Desirable Skills and Experience

  • Experience within the rail industry
  • Project management expertise
  • Familiarity with procurement systems and tools
