About this Role
Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board is looking for a motivated, enthusiastic individual to join a well-established Clinical Coding Department at Ysbyty Glan Clwyd, Denbighshire. The post holder will extract medical terms from clinical documents and translate them into clinical codes for hospital activity. Trainee Clinical Coders will be considered if the post cannot be filled by a qualified coder — trainees start on Band 3 and move to Band 4 on gaining NCCQ status, with a comprehensive training package including a Coding Standards Course and mentoring from experienced coders. You will need good knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, plus keen attention to detail. Welsh language skills are desirable; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome.
